The San Bernardino Grasshoppers got a superb performance from left fielder Travis Towns. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Atlantic City. The Sonics won the game, 9-2. In spite of the loss, Towns was named the player of the game. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Lincoln Spooner was the winning pitcher. Over 9 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Atlantic City is now 43-29.

Early in the game, catcher Scotty Mitchell had a 2-run home run for Atlantic City. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Sonics on top, 3-1.
