Shuckers Fall Short, 10-9, at Lake Minnetonka
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats defeated the Biloxi Shuckers, 10-9. Earning player of the game honors was first baseman Ken Barger, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Inaki Maira closed it out for his 3rd save. Lake Minnetonka has now won 3 straight, while the Shuckers have lost 3 in a row.
Yoshii Saikawa had a big run-scoring single for the Love Boats in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Lake Minnetonka leading 9-6 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Darrell Bouwhuis and stroked the single to center. It was his 29th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Love Boats ahead, 10-6.
"We maximized our offense today," said Lake Minnetonka skipper Chip Bishop. "That makes everyone's life easier."
