Screaming Eagles Take Tight Tilt
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and the Biloxi Shuckers, pitcher Ed Bowers was the difference between victory and defeat. The Mercer Island right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 Screaming Eagles win. The save was credited to Luis Oropeza, his 7th. The losing streak for Biloxi has now reached 4 games.
Bowers had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Screaming Eagles went on to win.
Biloxi manager Ken Miller said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
