The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Biloxi Shuckers at Heron Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Giuseppe Farina, who captured player of the game honors. Farina went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. His record improves to 4-3. The Love Boats saw their record improve to 29-25.
Lake Minnetonka took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Mario van Heijbeeck stroked a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Love Boats.
Farina said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
