Late Rally by Love Boats Secures Win
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Springfield Shooters at Springfield Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Brad Long, who captured player of the game honors. In 8 innings, Long surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Román Ornelas earned the save for Lake Minnetonka, his 12th of the year.
The Love Boats got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jody Clark. For the game, Clark was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Lake Minnetonka a 3-2 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Clark told the Lake Minnetonka Times.
Lake Minnetonka, at 23-18, sits in 4th place in the Premier AA.
