The Las Vegas Flamingos topped the D.C. Divided, 8-5, in United States Premier League action at The Strip. The player of the game was Las Vegas pitcher and South Lake Tahoe, California native Luis Peña. The winner was Las Vegas reliever Martín Valverde, now 1-0. The loser was Baker Mayfield. The Flamingos now have a record of 53-41 with the win over D.C..
Las Vegas shortstop Shihei Kichikawa helped the Flamingos to the win. In the bottom of the first inning, the 24-year old shortstop stroked a 2-run triple. For the game, Kichikawa was 2 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Peña said.
