The Minnesota Loons grabbed a 6-4 win over the San Bernardino Grasshoppers at Loony Bin. Minnesota catcher Gustavo Ortíz was 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. The Loons, now 14-5, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Ortíz contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Minnesota in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Ortíz took a fastball from Paul Haines and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Loons to leap in front, 4-3.

"I felt good up there," said Ortíz. "I saw the ball well."
