The Biloxi Shuckers got a superb performance from pitcher Jonathan Hathaway, but the Atlantic City Sonics still won the game, 5-4. Hathaway was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Atlantic City reliever Ramón Ocegueda picked up the win to move to 1-1. Bernard Cook suffered the loss. The win brings the Sonics to 6-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

John Willoughby, who was drafted in the two round of the 2027 draft, contributed to the Atlantic City win with a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
