The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles downed the Reno Silver Sox, 12-4, at Tennille Grounds. Dave Broom led the way, going 4-for-5 for Mercer Island. Will McLeod picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 3 in 6.1 innings. The win pushes Mercer Island to a record of 5-5.

Tied up with the Silver Sox in the top of the fourth inning, the Screaming Eagles got a boost from shortstop Maxence Sultanbekov. With a runner on 1st, Sultanbekov saw a 2-1 fastball from Jeff Merritt and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put Mercer Island on top, 4-2.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Sultanbekov.
