Calgary Wins, Vargas goes 3-for-3
|
The Calgary Lynx topped the Florida Men by the score of 8-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Júlio Vargas. Vargas went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Lynx on the day. António Marés, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 3-1. Lorenzo Díaz earned the save for Calgary, his 1st of the year.
Vargas had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Lynx went on to win.
