The Bloomington Longnecks got a sterling performance from pitcher Charlie Fairthorne, but the Black Sox still prevailed, 1-0. Fairthorne was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Baltimore reliever Aaron Houchens was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Charlie Fairthorne took the loss for Bloomington. The Black Sox improved to 29-35.

Had Javier Carretero not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Carretero hit a solo home run. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Black Sox.
