Victory Over Belugas Takes Bakersfield to 38-22
|
The Bakersfield Nobles got a strong performance from pitcher Juan Sánchez, who stymied the Brinkley offense en route to a 5-2 win at Belugas Ballpark. Sánchez, now 4-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Mimosa Joseph closed it out for his 1st save.
Juan Reyes, who is tied for 3rd in the PAAA in home runs with 15, chipped in for Bakersfield with a 2-run single in the top of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Reyes.
Bakersfield goes to 38-22. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
