Belugas Fall to .500 After Loss to Black Sox
|
Belugas Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Brinkley Belugas and Baltimore Black Sox.
Baltimore Black Sox starter Alejandro Araya pitched a strong game against the Brinkley Belugas at Belugas Ballpark, leading the Black Sox to a 3-1 win. In 6.2 innings, Araya surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Ilie Paunescu earned the save for Baltimore, his 4th of the year.
Mike Lipide helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring double to give Baltimore a 1-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Lipide, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Black Sox improved to 24-28.
