Loss Extends Memphis Losing Streak
|
The Memphis Redbirds got a superb performance from right fielder Michael Cochran. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Santa Barbara. The Golden Cranes won the game, 8-5. In spite of the loss, Cochran was named the player of the game. He was 4-4 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times. The Redbirds have now dropped 6 straight.
Gilbert Graham's at-bat in the bottom of the first inning was a big one for Santa Barbara. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Santa Barbara leading 1-0, the first baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager César Navejar. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
