|
Brinkley beat Scranton on the strength of starter Gary Ashley's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Ashley, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. The Belugas saw their win-loss record go to 21-24. At the same time, the Supernovas fell to 18-27.
Cisco Feijoo, who is tied for 5th in the PAAA in triples with 2, helped out the Brinkley cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Brinkley manager Ricardo Medina.
