Longnecks Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Supernovas
|
Bloomington turned a good effort from starter Charlie Fairthorne into a win over the Scranton Supernovas at Nuclear Stadium. The final score was 4-0. The winning pitcher was Fairthorne, now 2-1. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 2. Bloomington is now 18-18, Scranton 16-20.
The Longnecks got a big at-bat from first baseman Benedict Patel. For the game, Patel went 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 22nd hit of the season gave Bloomington a 1-0 lead.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Fairthorne.
