Longnecks Take Down Lynx, 8-3
|
Behind the bravura of second baseman Jeff Solís, the Bloomington Longnecks topped the Calgary Lynx by the score of 8-3. Solís was 2 for 4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Longnecks. Robby Oglethorpe got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Lynx to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Bloomington is now 10-11, while Calgary is 6-15.
Solís had a key at-bat for Bloomington early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 4th double of the season and gave Bloomington an early 1-0 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Solís told the Bloomington Daily News.
