A 4-RBI performance from center fielder Wilton Maynard, who is tied for 10th in the PAAA with a .412 on-base percentage, led the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes to a 6-3 win over the Baltimore Black Sox. Russ Horne picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-2. He struck out 8 in 8 innings. Vaugh Chesser earned the save, his 1st.
Maynard had an important at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the third, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Golden Cranes went on to win.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Santa Barbara manager Manuel Hernández.
The win brings the Golden Cranes to 9-11, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
