Lynx Win at Scranton, 5-1
|
The Calgary Lynx picked up a win at Nuclear Stadium, knocking off the Scranton Supernovas, 5-1. Starting pitcher John Dempsey, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Dempsey went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-1. Aubrey McCrimmon picked up the save for Calgary, his 1st of the year.
Early in the game, shortstop Gerardo Ponce de Leon had a 2-run double for Calgary. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Lynx on top, 2-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ponce de Leon. "And not try to do too much."
The Lynx, now 5-13, have not found much traction so far in 2035.
