Red-Hot Popoff Scorches Golden Cranes
|
Chase Popoff really sizzled at the plate in today's 9-5 win over Golden Cranes. The Scranton first baseman blistered Santa Barbara for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Popoff was too tough to get out today," the Golden Cranes skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
Chase Popoff hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Raúl Gómez in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
In 14 games Popoff is hitting .400 this season with 22 hits, 7 home runs, 19 RBIs, 4 walks, .450 OBP and has scored 9 runs.
