The Thunder Hawks had to overcome a good performance from Yakima pitcher Paco Garza to claim a 2-1 win at Hops Park. Garza went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Ft. Polk South improves to 63-37 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.

Shohei Otani's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a curveball from Justin Furneaux for a solo home run. It put Ft. Polk South in front, 2-1.

Otani attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
