Larate Delivers Walk-Off Win for Thunder Hawks
|
Ft. Polk South left-hander Min-chin Kim helped his team edge Asheville by the score of 3-2. Kim kept the opposing lineup in check. Kim got the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. Kim allowed no earned runs. Ft. Polk South is now 60-37.
The Thunder Hawks got a big at-bat from center fielder Pedro Larate. For the game, Larate was 1 for 5. In the bottom of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 98th hit of the season gave Ft. Polk South a 3-2 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Ft. Polk South manager Mark Harrison.
