Bakana goes 3-for-4 in Rails Win
|
The Richland Rails beat the Asheville Highlanders, 7-5, at Asheville Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Kupaalani Bakana, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Richland is now 45-49. Asheville is 45-49.
Bakana had a key at-bat for Richland early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was his 95th hit of the season and gave Richland an early 1-0 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bakana.
