Victory Pushes BC Record to 54-39
|
The San Antonio BC picked up a win at San Antonio Field, knocking off the Richland Rails, 4-1. Starting pitcher José Lucero, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Lucero, now 5-8. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. San Antonio, at 54-39, sits in 5th place in the Menard's AA.
The BC got a big at-bat from shortstop Ionut Tintoaca. For the game, Tintoaca went 1 for 2 with a double and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 16th double of the season gave San Antonio a 2-1 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Lucero.
