Rails Win at San Antonio, 2-0
|
San Antonio Field was the site of a exceptional pitchers' duel.
The Richland Rails took San Antonio pitcher Ed Abood's best shot and still were able to claim a win at San Antonio Field. The final score had Richland getting past the BC, 2-0. Abood went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 6. Chris Holmes earned his 18th save in 22 chances.
Falco Opsteegh helped out the Richland cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1-2 with a double.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Opsteegh said after the game.
Richland, at 44-48, sits in 7th place in the Menard's AA.
