The D.C. Divided turned back the Boston Patriots, 5-4, at Dunkin Donuts Park. José Torres was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times. D.C. reliever Bobby Ruegsegger was the winner. His record is now 2-5. The losing pitcher was Jamel Rhoads. Earning his 11th save for D.C. was Brewster Warble.
In the top of the 7th, left fielder Jay Hood gave D.C. the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Divided had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out single off Boston pitcher Jamel Rhoads changed that -- and D.C. went on to win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
With the win over Boston, the Divided improved to 31-49.
