Nationals Slip Past Asheville, 4-3
|
The Ottawa Nationals wiggled past the Asheville Highlanders, 4-3, at Nationals Park. Ottawa first baseman Anthon Klomp earned player of the game honors. Ottawa is now 29-56, Asheville 40-45.
Klomp had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 11th. On a 2-1 fastball from Wei Shan, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Nationals a 4-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Klomp.
Klomp called the triumph "a good team win."
