The Asheville Highlanders picked up a win at San Antonio Field, knocking off the San Antonio BC, 4-2. Starting pitcher Patrick Nicolas was an essential part of his team's success. Wei Shan closed it out for his 8th save. Asheville is now 39-42, San Antonio 48-33.
Ximena Ortíz, who is tied for 9th in the 3AA in triples with 3, chipped in for Asheville with a 3-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Asheville manager Jack Alexander.
