Late Rally by Highlanders Secures Win
The Asheville Highlanders did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the San Antonio BC at Asheville Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Pat Inman, who captured player of the game honors. Mario Sánchez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Jordan Calhoun was tagged with the loss. Wei Shan converted his 7th save in 8 tries.

Had Arnie Taylor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Taylor hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Highlanders.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Inman told the Asheville Daily News.

At 37-42, Asheville is in 7th place in the Menard's AA.
