The Boston Patriots took New Orleans pitcher Rémi Ribeiro's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Voodoo Lounge. The final score had Boston getting past the Voodoo, 10-4. Ribeiro went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 2. Eric Matson got the win, improving to 5-4. He held the Voodoo to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. Boston is now 40-37.

It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Jeff Simpson, the 28-year old right fielder . Simpson contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Boston up, 5-2.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Tyler Carter said.
