Nationals Win at San Antonio, 4-2
|
The Ottawa Nationals faced a tough opponent in San Antonio pitcher Jordan Calhoun, but did just enough to pull out the victory at San Antonio Field by a final score of 4-2. Calhoun went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Even with the win, the Nationals have a dismal 25-47 record.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, Cheh Zhi was at the plate when Ottawa scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Nationals to go in front, 3-2.
After the game, Ottawa manager Manny Cuellar applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
