Polar Bears Get Close Win Over Ogres
|
Billings beat Olympia at The Igloo, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Andrew Bryant, who earned player of the game honors. Billings reliever Montrell Baxa picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Stewart Cartwright was collared with the loss. Billings has now won 3 straight, while the Ogres have lost 3 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Billings left fielder Félix Castellanos, facing Stewart Cartwright, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Polar Bears the 6-5 win.
"This place was rocking at the end," Castellanos said.
