Ogres Mow Down Nationals, 9-2
|
The Olympia Ogres topped the Ottawa Nationals by the score of 9-2, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Jesús Corona. Corona was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Ogres. José Alfaro, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 7.2 innings. Coy Britt earned his 2nd save in 3 tries.
Early in the game, Corona had a 2-run home run for Olympia. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Ogres on top, 2-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Corona told the Olympia Times.
Olympia is now 21-25, Ottawa 17-29.
