Late Rally by Rapiers Secures Win
|
Fans who came to Rails Ballpark watched the Durham Rapiers and the Richland Rails fight to the finish.
The Richland Rails got a superb performance from catcher Tak-wai Jia. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Durham. The Rapiers won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Jia was named the player of the game. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Rapiers now have a record of 27-19 with the win over Richland.
Milos Jaksch made it 5-4 in favor of Durham when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Rapiers went on to win.
"This was a good win," said Jaksch.
