Thunder Hawks Squelch Deuces Offense in Shutout Win
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks went home winners at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Lucas van Halteren. van Halteren silenced the Virginia Beach Deuces, enabling Ft. Polk South to grab the 3-0 win. The winning pitcher was van Halteren, now 4-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. The Thunder Hawks improved to 24-21.

Luke Thornton, who was drafted in the two round of the 2029 draft, helped out the Ft. Polk South cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3. He drove in 2 runs.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Thornton told the Ft. Polk South Gazette.
