Extra-Inning Win by Youth over Nationals
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Chi-hyeong Kim, the Ottawa Nationals suffered a 4-3 loss to the Phoenix Hotspur Youth. Kim was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Phoenix Hotspur has now won 3 straight, while the Nationals have lost 3 in a row.
Tied up with the Nationals in the bottom of the tenth inning, the Youth got a boost from second baseman Tyler Hannah. With a runner on 2nd, Hannah saw a 3-1 fastball from Shackleford Stanwick and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Phoenix Hotspur on top, 4-3.
In postgame comments to the Phoenix Hotspur Times, Hannah said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
