BC Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The San Antonio BC knocked off the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, 9-5, at San Antonio Field. Tomás Muinos, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason San Antonio won. The first baseman was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Júlio Luna, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. Earning his 13th save of the year was Ben Lieske.
Chet Mathis, who was drafted in the two round of the 2026 draft, contributed to the San Antonio win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"Enjoyed this one," Mathis told the San Antonio Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The BC, at 25-13, lead by one game in their division.
