|
The Ottawa Nationals topped the Billings Polar Bears by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Holden Ford. Ford was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Nationals on the day. After today's action, Ottawa sits at 13-16, while Billings falls to 15-14.
Ford contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Ottawa in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Ford took a changeup from Alberto Ortíz and stroked the home run to right-center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Nationals to leap in front, 6-4.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ford told a Ottawa Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
