BC Get One-Run Win at Ottawa
|
Fans who gathered at Nationals Park saw a good contest between the San Antonio BC and Ottawa Nationals.
The San Antonio BC had to overcome a big game from Ottawa third baseman Manuel Vroonland to leave Nationals Park with a 6-5 victory. Vroonland went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jackson Williams picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-1. He struck out 5 in 6.1 innings. Ben Lieske earned the save, his 8th, for the BC.
Jiao-long Xú chipped in for San Antonio, stroking a crucial single in the top of the fifth inning. For the game, the shortstop was 1-4.
"We found a way to get it done," Xú said.
San Antonio is now 16-10, while Ottawa is 12-14.
