Nationals Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Ottawa Nationals got a strong performance from pitcher Yoshihide Hirata, who stymied the San Antonio offense en route to a 3-2 win at Nationals Park. In 7 innings, Hirata surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Shackleford Stanwick earned the save for Ottawa, his 1st of the year.
Don McGhee had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the third for Ottawa. With a runner on 3rd and the Nationals leading 2-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"It feels good to get this one," McGhee told the Ottawa Chronicle.
