The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 6-3, in M3L Double A action at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, with Asheville right fielder Yoshihiro Iwasaki named player of the game. The Highlanders now own a record of 12-11.

Iwasaki contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Asheville in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Iwasaki took a fastball from Jesús Silva and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Highlanders to leap in front, 4-3.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Iwasaki. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
