Nationals Edge Rails, 3-2
|
Ottawa starter António Esquivel pitched effectively against the Richland Rails at Rails Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Ottawa reliever Gavin Burdikin picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Stan Burgemeester absorbed the loss. Ottawa is now 9-13.
It could have been a different outcome for Ottawa, had it not been for Júlio Moreno, the 24-year old first baseman . Moreno contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Ottawa up, 3-2.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Moreno.
