Thunder Hawks Win at Durham, 4-3
|
Durham third baseman Huai-yi Yang had a good game, even if his team did not. The Rapiers dropped a 4-3 decision to Ft. Polk South at Rapiers Ballpark. Yang went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. Lucas van Halteren got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 5. Picking up the save was Seong-hyeon Pak, his 2nd.
Ft. Polk South took control in the top of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Luke Thornton hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Thunder Hawks.
"Both teams played hard," said Ft. Polk South manager Mark Harrison.
With the win, the Thunder Hawks improved to 9-12.
