Deuces Win in Extras
|
The Virginia Beach Deuces did just enough to sneak past the Ottawa Nationals, 4-3, at Nationals Park. Virginia Beach second baseman Nobuharu Ageda earned player of the game honors. Stan Lowe picked up the save for Virginia Beach, his 1st of the year. The Deuces keep rolling, raising their record to 13-6.
Jimmy Scott's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Shackleford Stanwick for a run-scoring single. It put Virginia Beach in front, 4-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ageda. "And not try to do too much."
