Nationals Fall Short, 7-6, at Salem
Salem beat Ottawa at Ricochets Ballpark, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Luis Tañón, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win brings the Misfits to 10-7, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Tañón put Salem up, 7-1, when he hit a solo home run off Amadeo Nardello in the bottom of the sixth. His 2nd home run of the season helped the Misfits capture the win.

"We got the victory," said Tañón. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
