Late Rally by Cattlemen Seals 4th Straight Win
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Quebec City Les Bleus at Quebec City Coliseum. Nobody did more than pitcher Zalontae Hillary, who captured player of the game honors. Burm Snart picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 9-2. José Barquero was tagged with the loss. The third-place Cattlemen have won 4 straight.
Sergio Ortíz's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from José Barquero for a run-scoring single. It put Ft. Worth in front, 2-1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Hillary told the Ft. Worth Daily News.
