Knights Stumble, Lose to Piranhas
|
The Panama City Piranhas bested the Kingston Township Knights by a score of 8-4, with third baseman Mike Strickland getting the main credit. On the day, Strickland went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Piranhas. Marvin Sidebottom got credit for the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Joe Khokar, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 24th save.
Strickland had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch cutter from Il-young Kim, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Piranhas a 6-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Strickland.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Strickland said.
Panama City has a 3-game win streak, while Kingston Township has lost 4 in a row.
