Evergreens Stay Hot, Beat Divided
|
Portland left fielder Shahid Afridi was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the D.C. Divided. Afridi, who is rated as the 50th best prospect by BNN, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Evergreens. Portland reliever Cristián Moreno was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Dale Kurth took the loss. Keith Rojas earned the save for Portland, his 4th.
Afridi had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the third, when he reached on an error by the C, driving in 1 run. The Evergreens went on to win.
"I like our moxie," said Evergreens manager Dummy Manager.
