Machen K's 10 En Route to 1-0 Les Bleus Win
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Quebec City Les Bleus eventually prevailed at Quebec City Coliseum.
Michael Machen pitched a gem to lead Quebec City to a 1-0 victory over the Echo Park Lakers. Matt Digby got the save, his 17th in 17 chances.
Machen was in the zone all game. He frustrated Echo Park hitters while giving the Les Bleus 8.1 innings of quality work. Machen threw 108 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 10 punchouts.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Machen said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Les Bleus bumped their record to 51-29 with this latest triumph.
