Pérez Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Echo Park in Walk-Off Win
|
Quebec City got a terrific performance from pitcher José Lucero, but it wasn't enough to beat the Echo Park Lakers. Echo Park won the LA Forum contest, 4-1. Lucero was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Lyle Lanley in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Urs Ehles took the loss. With the win, Echo Park has a record of 37-42. Quebec City falls to 50-29.
Echo Park won the game in the bottom of the 13th inning. With one out and Urs Ehles on the mound for Quebec City, pinch hitter Xavier Pérez hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Lakers fans to their feet.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Quebec City manager Dean Ashley.
